Slippery When Wet
In the summer of 1958 Bruce was a twenty year old lifeguard in San Clemente. At nights he worked at Dale Velzy's surf shop where occasionally Dale showed an 8mm film Bruce had made while stationed on a submarine in Hawaii. Dale agreed to sponsor Bruce to make a 16mm. film. He provided $5000 which included the camera, 50 rolls of film, and six plane tickets to Hawaii. The result - Slippery When Wet, Bruce Brown's first full-length film. Music is by Bud Shank, surfing comes from Del Cannon, Henry Ford, Freddy Pthaler, Kemp Aaberg and Dick Thomas.
